The DOs and DON'Ts on how to package your parcel correctly
The DOs
- Have the destination address clearly visible on the front of the parcel
- Double check the address, dimensions and weight is correct for the shipping method
- Add "this way up" or "Fragile" labels if necessary
- Pack items securely inside the package so they don't move about and get damaged
- For important items, send with tracking and appropriate compensation
The DON'Ts
- Have any sharp edges to the parcel (this includes staples)
- Send anything on the prohibited items list (click for more info)
- Send packages with loose ends that could catch on other items such as tape or string
- Have more than one address or tracking barcode on the parcel
- Send packages in bags which can get pierced, squashed and easily torn
- Throw away your proof of postage or tracking number until the parcel is delivered!
